Introducing... science and some other stuff too

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jake.

What do I do for a living? I am a scientist. Well, to be more specific, I am an astrophysicist, which is someone who studies the physics of the Universe. But for the purposes of this blog, all you really need to know is that I am a scientist. Beyond just pure science, I like to think about politics and the role that science plays in our society, especially in the current political climate.

This blog is going to be about all of the above. It will be meant to discuss really cool things in science, like asteroids that may hit us (well, that may not be so cool). But it will also be a forum to debate certain policies in our society, especially those that focus on science.
